This former steading has been converted to a very high standard (2005) and lies in the grounds of Achavoulin, a family home situated one mile south of Blackwaterfoot. The cottage has its own entrance with a parking area and is surrounded by extensive gardens, planted with rhododendrons and azaleas.  The burn, after which the cottage is named, runs nearby.

The west coast of Arran is spectacular with its bays and coastline and gives magnificent views across to the Mull of Kintyre. Often called “Scotland in Miniature” as Arran seems to embody the wide variety of landscapes from rugged peaks to gentle rolling hills.

Arran is also known as the “golfers paradise” with seven courses within easy reach, including a stunning “top 100” twelve hole course at Blackwaterfoot.  The family also own a salmon / sea trout spate river, which can be let by separate arrangement.
